GDPR quick check: are your data protection mechanisms effective?

Although it is some years since the GDPR legislation came into force, data protection remains a hot topic. To help you know where you stand, we provide a comprehensive overview of your progress in implementing the GDPR data protection requirements with a minimum of fuss.

One key question has constanly arisen during our collaboration with over 50 energy and non-energy companies in the implementation and professionalisation of GDPR: Where are we in respect to our data protection processes and systems?

This question remains as relevant today as when the GDPR was first implemented. Despite ongoing clarification of the legislative requirements, adverse findings for non-compliances, and statements from the various data protection authorities in Germany, we still find that questions concerning GDPR remain unanswered.

In this context, one thing is clear: Doing nothing is the biggest risk of all! This can particularly be seen in the increasing cross-functional auditing undertaken by authorities and in the rising number of fines for non-compliance being issued.

how can our GDPR quick check help?

Data protection departments (and especially data protection officers) as well as responsible persons and specialist departments all benefit from the professionalisation of data protection mechanisms. The clearer the approach and the better the data protection measures, the more secure the business as a whole is. This brings benefits for customers, partners, and of course the business itself. The base for such a success story can be set through a quick check which identifies what still needs to be done.

Our GDPR quick check consists of 3 project phases:

  1. Kickoff and data collection
  2. Interviews in the relevant business units and recording of the status-quo
  3. Presentation of results and roadmap for future improvement initiatives

The GDPR quick check quickly delivers a holistic overview of the status-quo. We can assess both the entire business or individual business units. Of course we are also more than happy to embed the quick check in an overarching professionalisation of data protection in your organisation.
